Word Guess: find the 5-letter word in 6 tries

Goal

Uncover the secret 5-letter word. You get 6 tries and after each one the game tells you which letters you got right.

How to play

1. Type a 5-letter word with Loopita's keyboard (or your phone's own keyboard, if you choose it in Settings) and press Enter.
2. The word must be in the game's word list: if not, you're told ("Word not in the list") and the try isn't used. If letters are missing, it tells you ("Not enough letters").
3. Each letter gets a colour: correct (right spot), wrong place (it's in the word but elsewhere) or not in the word.
4. Use those colours to choose your next word. Loopita's keyboard also marks the letters you've already used.
5. You win by filling the row with the 5 correct letters. If you use all 6 tries without getting it, the word is revealed and the puzzle counts as played.

Key rules

• Colours: violet = correct letter; amber = wrong place; grey = not in the word. They also differ in brightness (designed with colour blindness in mind).
• Repeated letters: a letter is only coloured as many times as it appears in the secret word. If you type two "A"s and the word has one, only one is marked.
• Accents are ignored when typing and comparing, but shown properly in the solution. In Spanish, Ñ is a letter of its own.
• There are no hints in this game.
• Each language has its own words (never translations): the daily puzzle is the same for every player of a language.

Scoring and rewards

• Daily puzzle: a win gives 10 loopies + 2 for every try you have left (up to 20 if you get it on the first try) + the speed bonus (up to +4; reference time 1 min 30 s). If you don't get it, 2 loopies. Every loopie also gives 1 XP.
• Completing the puzzle (win or not) keeps your streak.
• Infinite mode: a win gives 4 loopies + 2 per star (6 to 10) + speed bonus (up to +2); a loss gives 1.

Modes and difficulty

daily puzzle (6 tries), infinite mode (endless levels: 6 tries on levels 1-10, 5 on 11-25 and 4 from 26; stars: 3 if you solve it in half the tries or fewer, 2 if you have a try to spare, 1 if you solve it on the last one) and archive. Available in Spanish and English with different words in each. Infinite mode is separate for each language.

Tips

1. Start with a word with varied vowels to rule letters in or out quickly.
2. Watch Loopita's keyboard: used letters are marked, so you don't repeat letters you've already ruled out.
3. If a letter shows up as "wrong place", move it to another position in your next try instead of reusing the same spot.

Frequently asked questions

Does it matter if I type without accents?

No: accents are ignored. In Spanish, Ñ is a different letter from N.

What happens if I don't get it?

The word is shown, you earn 2 loopies and the day still counts as played for your streak.

Are there hints?

Not in this game. Hints exist in Letter Wheel, Logic Loops, Stars and Trail.
